02 / Information we handle
Information you choose to send
If you email us, we receive your email address, the name shown by your email service, your message, any attachments and correspondence that follows. Your enquiry may include your business name, website, project requirements, business stage and budget.
When you submit the project form, your name, email address, business name, optional website, project requirements, business stage, budget and message are sent through FormSubmit to info@brandpreneur.net. The form does not save these entries in browser storage. You can also email us directly.
You choose what to share. Without contact details and enough information about your request, we may be unable to respond or prepare a proposal. Please do not send passwords, payment card details, sensitive personal information or other people's details unless necessary and you are entitled to share them.
Browsing and external content
When pages or media load over the internet, the server supplying them receives connection information such as your IP address, browser details and requested resource, and may receive the referring page address. The home page includes media from Unsplash and may load example video from Mozilla's MDN service. Those providers handle requests under their own privacy notices.
This website does not include analytics scripts, advertising pixels, visitor accounts or automated decisions about you. Saved design preferences and external media are explained in our Cookie Policy.
03 / Why we use it
- Responding to enquiries and discussing a project
- We use your contact details and message to understand your needs and reply. Where you ask us to take steps towards a contract with you, the basis is taking those pre-contract steps. When you contact us on behalf of a company, or ask a general question, the basis is our legitimate interest in communicating with prospective clients and answering enquiries.
- Managing an agreed engagement
- We use relevant correspondence to provide the services you agree with us. The basis is performance of our contract with you, or our legitimate interest in managing a business relationship where your organisation is the client.
- Legal obligations and disputes
- We use necessary records to meet applicable accounting, tax and other legal duties. Where necessary to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim, we rely on our legitimate interest in protecting our legal rights.
Sending an enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing. We do not use the website form for profiling or decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
05 / How long we keep it
Retention depends on the purpose of the record. We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as needed to answer your request and manage any resulting discussions. Relevant correspondence may become part of a client record if a project proceeds.
For client and accounting records, we take account of the engagement, applicable statutory retention duties and the time needed to deal with a complaint or legal claim. Records subject to a legal hold may need to be retained until the matter is resolved. Information should be deleted or anonymised when there is no continuing reason to keep it.
You can ask us which retention criteria apply to a particular record. Project enquiries submitted through the form are handled through FormSubmit and email; saved design settings remain in your browser until removed, as described in the Cookie Policy.
06 / Your rights
Depending on the circumstances and the basis for processing, UK data protection law gives you rights to:
- Ask for access to your personal information and a copy of it.
- Have inaccurate information corrected or incomplete information completed.
- Ask for erasure or restriction of processing where the relevant conditions apply.
- Receive certain information in a portable format where processing is automated and based on consent or a contract.
- Withdraw consent at any time where processing relies on consent, without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Your right to object
You can object to processing based on legitimate interests for reasons relating to your circumstances. You can object to direct marketing at any time. Email info@brandpreneur.net to make an objection.
Send requests to info@brandpreneur.net. We may need proportionate information to confirm your identity or clarify the request. We will respond within the applicable legal time limit, normally one month. If an extension or exception applies, we will explain it.
07 / Security
Access to enquiry information should be limited to people who need it for the purposes above. No internet or email service can guarantee absolute security. Please contact us before sharing confidential project material so that an appropriate way to exchange it can be agreed.
08 / Questions & complaints
Please contact info@brandpreneur.net if you have a concern about how your information is handled. You can also write to our registered office above.
You have the right to complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Visit ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint for current contact details and the complaints process. Contacting us first does not remove your right to contact the ICO.
